South Adams’ Tessa Bernard Named ANEC Softball Performer of the Week

South Adams’ Tessa Bernard is this week’s ANEC Softball Performer of the Week. 7,421 votes were submitted via Google Forms and an impressive 3,893 of them went to Bernard after she went 2-3 with 2 Home Runs, 2 runs, and 3 RBI’s in a 6-2 win over Norwell. This is the first time in program history that a softball player has been recognized for this honor at South Adams, and it’s only the third time ever for an ACAC softball program.

This week’s runner up went to Eastside’s Moyra McAtee with 1,000 votes after she pulled off a complete game No-Hitter, W, a walk, and 10 K’s in a 10-0 5-inning win over Angola, and another CG W allowing one hit, one run, and striking out 19 batters in a 8-1 win over Churubusco. Jay County’s Madyson Fraley (737 votes) went 3-3 with a Home Run, 3 runs, and 4 RBI’s in a 15-0 5-inning win over Eastbrook.

Whitko’s Addie Garr (398 votes) went 2-2 with a double, hit by the pitch twice, and 2 runs scored, and pitched a CG W, allowing 5 hits, a earned run, 3 walks, and recording 14 K’s in a 8-3 win over West Noble. Huntington North’s Corinne Martz (280 votes) went 4-4 with 4 runs, 2 triples, and a RBI in a 14-3 5-inning win over Northrop.

DeKalb’s Ashley Cox (257 votes) went 2-4 with a home run, a run, and 4 RBI’s in a 10-8 comeback win over Angola. Adams Central’s Melina Peralez (230 votes) went 4-4 with 2 doubles, a run, and 5 RBI’s in a 11-9 win over Bishop Luers, and went 4-4 with 2 Home Runs, a double, 3 runs, and 4 RBI’s in a 9-6 win over Bishop Luers.

Woodlan’s Abby Horn (223 votes) pitched a complete game win, allowing 7 hits, 3 earned runs, no walks, and recording 12 K’s in a 5-4 win over Prairie Heights in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader where Woodlan took both games. Columbia City’s Emma Hiss (142 votes) went 2-3 with 2 Home Runs, 4 Runs, and 5 RBI’s in a 10-9 comeback win over Northrop.

Leo’s Anna Woods (131 votes) went 3-4 with a Home Run, a walk, a double, a run, and 6 RBI’s in a 13-12 comeback win over Northrop. Bellmont’s MaryKate Scheumann (102 votes) recorded 4IP, allowing No Hits, No Runs, a Walk, and recording 7 K’s in a 3-2 win over Adams Central. East Noble’s Bailea Bortner (28 votes) went 3-6 with. 2 doubles, a triple, 3 runs, and 5 RBI’s in a 23-6 5-inning win over Warsaw.
